Chronic Lower Back Pain

Back pain is a condition that we all have faced or will face sometime in life. Back pain can be related to the spine or the muscles of the back, and it is one of the leading causes of disability in the world today. While most of the times back pain can be treated with home remedies or better posture, there are rare cases where surgery is needed to alleviate the pain.

Causes of Back Pain

There can be several causes of back pain. While some of these causes are related to incorrect posture, others are related to a person’s age and lifestyle. In all cases, it is best to get a diagnosis from a professional physician.

  1. Slouching posture while standing

  2. Hunching over while sitting

  3. Incorrect lifting of heavy objects

  4. Kidney stones

  5. Bacterial infection of the spine

Symptoms of Back Pain

Some of the symptoms of back pain are as follows:

  1. A dull pain in the lower back side

  2. Constant pain in the legs

  3. Numb or tingling sensation in lower back or legs

  4. Inability to sit or stand in one position for long

  5. Inability to bend down to pick up things

Prevention of Back Pain

Back pain can be prevented by taking care of good posture while sitting, standing, and picking up things. It is always advised to pick up things from a lower surface by the use of knees and not the back. One should also take care of the diet and exercise regularly as excessive weight gain can put more stress on the back.
